Nace en Santa Clara (Villa Clara), Cuba, el 22 de abril de 1982. Comienza sus estudios de musica en la Casa de Cultura de Santa Clara donde empieza a estudiar bajo. A la edad de 15 años prosigue sus estudios en la Escuela Nacional de Arte.
Ya de muy joven, comienza su carrera como profesional actuando en el Jazz Cafe con musicos de Irakere, la gran orquesta de Chucho Valdes, así como con Orlando Valle (Maraca) con quién tocará en grandes festivales por Estados Unidos, Europa y Canadá, como el festival de Montreal.
A los 19 años se gradúa en la Escuela Nacional como profesional e instrumentista y profesor de contrabajo. Un año mas tarde comienza sus estudios superiores en el Instituto Superior de Arte de la Habana.
Ha tocado con músicos como, Chucho Valdes, Cesar Pedroso, Ben Sidran, Roman Filíu, Jerry Gonzalez, Joshua Edelman, Niño Josele, Ron Jackson, Changuito Quintana, entre otros.
Reinier Elizarde, “negrón”, colabora en el disco llamado La Rumba soy yo, del pianista cubano Chucho Valdés.

Born in Santa Clara (Villa Clara), Cuba, April 22, 1982. Began to study music at the Arts Center of Santa Clara where he started learning the acoustic bass. At the age of 15, he entered the Escuela Nacional de Arte to further his studies.
At a very early age, Reinier began his professional career performing at the Jazz Cafe with musicians of the group Irakere, the great orchestra of Chucho Valdes, and with Orlando Valle (Maraca) with whom he performed at major festivals in the U.S., Europe and in Canada at the Montreal festival.
At age 19, he graduated from the National School as a certified contrabass professional and teacher. A year later, he began his studies at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana.
He has performed with musicians including Chucho Valdes, Cesar Pedroso, Ben Sidran, Roman Filiú, Jerry Gonzalez, Joshua Edelman, Child Josele, Ron Jackson, Changuito Quintana, among others.
Reinier Elizarde, "negrón" collaborated in the album called “La Rumba Soy Yo” by the great Cuban pianist Chucho Valdes.
